The TruckSmarter app had been designed as a mobile first platform under the premise that most truck drivers used their phones to run their business. Through discussions with drivers and other users such as dispatchers and brokers, we discovered that many preferred a desktop experience. The desktop version of the app was an opportunity to up-level the overall product design. The desktop version was as a soft release since it did not have the full functionality of the app. The objective was to showcase the product as an improved, more sophisticated tool while improving the features and functionality over time.
